Review: Built Case for iPad 2 (and the new iPad)

The Built iPad 2 case is a slip case made from Neoprene-like material, combined with a soft faux-fur interior. I picked up one up recently to see whether it could provide a neat solution...

The Built case occupies a specific space within the cases market for the iPad family - this case is for those that want to transport their iPad safely, but then want to use the iPad as it was intended (with no casing around it) once it is pulled from the slip case. Interestingly, the literature does say that you can put an iPad (with a Smart Cover on it), inside the Built case - I'd just about agree with this, but I can tell you now it's a tight fit!

The case itself is well padded, and because the fit is snug, you wont find the iPad flying out at any point (definitely not if you have the Smart Cover on as well!). I think there's a sufficient amount of padding for the iPad to take a gentle bang or a knock, but I'd be a bit more concerned if the case ended up being dropped from anything more than a very low height.

Like with most cases, the inner lining is very soft - but I think it's always worthwhile using a screen protector (like the Power Support one) in addition to any case you might buy.

But anyway, the case does it's job well, looks good, and is reasonably priced - you can pick it up for around £20 online.

RATED: 8/10
